What Is Student Venture?

High school can be an intimidating four years. Students working toward graduation face incredible pressures in the classroom and with their peers. Many succumb to drinking, cheating, gambling, drugs and sex which cloud their once bright horizons.

Student Venture reaches out to thousands of students each year with God's offer of love and forgiveness together with His power and purpose for daily living. Student Venture was established in 1967 as the high school outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ, Intl.; a trans-denominational Christian ministry of evangelism and discipleship. Campus Crusade's international headquarters is in Orlando, Florida, and there are more than 25,000 staff working in over 190 countries.

Student Venture operates in 125 U.S. communities and several international locations, including Barcelona, Moscow, Budapest and Manila. Student Venture began reaching students in the Dallas area in 1971, expanding to Plano in 1979, Carrollton in 1985 and Frisco in 2002.

Currently the team consists of several staff, plus volunteers and interns. Staff create a friendly and exciting environment of small and large group Bible studies, retreats and fun outings where hundreds of interested students develop their personal faith in God, a sense of service to community and a deeper respect for church.

Students can attend national conferences like the "Rocky Mountain Getaway" in Estes Park, Colorado, in June and mission trips to Europe, Asia and South America over spring and summer breaks.

Student Venture staff work full-time in the ministry, each raising personal financial support from their home areas before reporting. Staff are trained once they arrive on the field. Salaries are based on size of family, tenure and location. The average staff age is 35, all are college graduates and are required to join local churches of their choice upon arriving to their assignment.

Working together with local ministries and churches, Student Venture serves the community by helping produce events like the anti-drug "RALLY" at Plano's Clark Football Stadium each fall.

Our team raises $270,000 annually in local funds for scholarships to Student Venture conferences, guest assembly speakers, interns salaries and administrative costs. These funds are above and beyond the eleven member team's personal financial support; which represents a $300,000 annual investment in the youth of your community.
